LAB TRADITIONS

The Disease Molecular Biology and Epigenetics Laboratory fosters a culture of mentorship, collaborative work, excellence and camaraderie. The lab, however, is known for its family-like atmosphere and is bound by traditions that keep us together. These include lab dinners, BBQs, out-of-town trips in the summer, annual Christmas lunch, trips to local museums, leaving-do(s), traveling together abroad and sightseeing before and after conferences, random happy hour(s), and many more.

Members of the lab always look forward to lab dinners and BBQs, whether it's part of our post-conference celebrations in Korea or Japan, toast to those who just defended their theses, mini-reunions in Europe or Asia, send-off for a lab member leaving for grad school abroad, or any other excuse.

The lab's annual end-of-year celebration is either a Christmas BBQ (complete with games and raffle prizes) or a Christmas lunch and an injection of culture - by visiting one of the local museums together.
