SANGER INSTITUTE PRIZE
Cambridge, UK
The Sanger Institute Prize is an annual international competition open to undergraduates from low- to upper-middle-income countries. The winner is chosen by the Sanger Institute Prize trustees after a two-step screening process, the last one of which entails submission of a lengthy essay on a breakthrough technology in molecular cellular biology, that is formatted following the style of the high-impact scientific journal Nature Reviews. As part of the prize, the winner gets a 3-month research internship at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (Genome Campus) in Cambridge, UK. All expenses, including visa costs, flights, accommodation and reasonable living expenses are paid for by the Sanger Institute.
